The 2012 Suburban East Club Lacrosse Team is a community based summer lacrosse team sponsored by the Stillwater High School Girls’ Lacrosse Booster Organization. The S.E.C. Lacrosse Team was established in 2011 to provide a local club team experience for east metro high school lacrosse players.
The purpose of the team is to provide high-level summer lacrosse training and game play for east metro area high school level players during June and July. Team membership will provide exposure to college coaches by traveling to a major east coast recruiting tournament.

The 2012 S.E.C. Lacrosse Team will be made up of East Metro players who graduate in 2012, 2014 and 2015.

The Team will consist of up to 18 field players and 2 goalies.

Advantages of S.E.C. team membership:
-
The team will travel to Richmond, Virginia from July 20 -22 to compete in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Capital Cup Lacrosse Tournament (www.capitalcuplax.com).

Practice Close to Home. All practice sessions will be held at Stillwater Area High School on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 12th to July 19th.

Play Summer Lacrosse Close to Home. S.E.C. team members will play in the East Metro 5 v 5 League at Stillwater Area High School on Wednesday evenings June 13th to July 25th.

No weekend practices or play other than the Capital Cup Lacrosse Tournament.

No club team fee. Lower cost than year-round club teams! The financial commitment includes the cost of participating in M.A.D. Pony Summer Lacrosse Training on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the East Metro 5 v 5 League and travel/lodging cost for the Capital Cup Lacrosse Tournament.

Summer only concept is ideal for multisport athletes who participate in fall and/or winter spots.

Team members will be selected by application and recommendation provided by their high school coach. Tryout will be held if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of avalible team spots.

Suburban East Club Lacrosse Team Members Agree To:
-
Attend a minimum of 8 training sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 12th to July 19th.

Play in a minimum of 4 of the East Metro 5 v 5 Wednesday night games from June 13th to July 18th.

US Lacrosse membership is required.

How to Apply for the 2012 Suburban East Club Lacrosse Team:

Register early, as the team is limited to 18 field players and two goalies. Click Register Online located on the left side of the home page. Registration will close on January 15, 2012.

The total cost of team participation includes fees for 2012 M.A.D. Pony Summer Lacrosse training ($120.00), East Metro 5 v 5 Summer League ($80.00) and Capital Cup Lacrosse Tournament costs that include airfare, ground transportation, lodging and tournament costs (estimated at $700 to $1000 – this fee could be lower based on any fundraising efforts.

Pre-game Lacrosse Skill Training and Warm-up 4:30 – 5:05 led by high school team captains and Coach Maureen Sanderson*
Game Time: 5:05 - 6:00
Improve with Lacrosse Skill Training and Small Game Play!
7 v 7 cross field play with regulation center draw circle and two full size scoring areas

Small game play guarantees frequent touches

Rules that encourages development of both offensive and defensive skills and lacrosse specific conditioning

Four teams with two games played simultaneously
-
Each team will is divided into 2 lines with shifts of approximately 2 1/2 minutes. The fast paced play with each girl playing both offence and defense requires frequent line changes and provides lacrosse specific conditioning.

Each team will consist of one line of more experienced players and a line of newer players. The line shifts will be made so experience players compete against experienced players and newer players compete against newer players.

Players will be assigned to teams and lines based on their school affiliation and playing experience.

Voted lacrosse co-captain as a senior, class of '88.
College:

4-year starter for William Smith College in Geneva, NY, graduating with a BA in English in 1992. During that time, the William Smith lacrosse team was ranked in the top 5 of D3 schools in the nation and competed in the NCAA final 4 for 3 of the 4 years.

Voted co-caption for both junior and senior seasons and led the team to the championship game in 1992, losing to The College of New Jersey 5-3.

Regional All-American, 2nd team All-American, and a North/South all-star in 1992.
Coaching Experience:

Assistant soccer and lacrosse coach at Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA.

Helped start the high school club team, The Rochester Renegades, in 2006 and the Rochester Youth Lacrosse Association in 2009. The Rochester Renegades had winning seasons in each of their 3 years, making it to the NSLA state tournament in 2006 and the NSLA championship game in 2007 and 2008.
